Graffiti Institute Walls 2019 Application

Graffiti Institute Walls is a curatorial program of rotating murals where artists can apply to paint original works. We offer three tracks to provide opportunities to support artists at various stages: Free, Individual and Collaborative. Descriptions are listed below. Please select one applicant track. Applicants are taken on a rolling basis and length of production for individual mural projects is determined on a case by case basis. Please note that a typical wall space is 16’ wide and your artwork will remain up one month. You must provide all of your own supplies and completely cover any previous artwork.

All applications will be reviewed by our Young Curatorial Committee for approval and scheduling. Applying does not guarantee a spot. Be on the lookout for emails from ycc@graffitiinstitute.com. Painters are expected to follow the community guidelines by Las Topo Chicas (listed at bottom of page) and any violation will result in getting kicked out of the program.

Disclaimer: We aim to be as respectful as possible in gathering as little amount of your personal information as we feel necessary for this program. What we do collect helps communication around scheduling your wall, and to keep you informed with any Graffiti Institute updates. Participants will also be asked to provide feedback throughout the program to identify areas of improvement for us. Thanks for your cooperation.

The following are the descriptions of the three tracks

  • Free: no application or approval is necessary. This area is considered a ‘practice’ space open to the general public for experimenting and self-guided skill building. Works are not intended to have any length of visibility.

  • Individual: artists can apply for an individual space, typically 12’ feet wide, and expect their artwork to remain on display for one month from start date.

  • Collaborative: a group of artists can apply to collaborate on a larger space, size TBA, and expect their artwork to remain on display for a minimum of three months from start date.
